Yoga
Tech Guide
Yoga is the discipline of mind and body. The term 'yoga' has broader implications in the field of religious practices. Generally we mean that yoga is the physical exercise.
Ancient Indian sages had invented the postures of yoga throughout the ages from their personal experiences of rigorous religious practice. Yoga would help them improve their religious practice. Their aim is to attain God or the absolute freedom. Yoga would ultimately lead them to acquire absolute freedom of their souls. So they follow the rigorous practice of developing and sublimating the faculty of mind. For this purpose they felt that the mind is connected with body. Only fit and healthy body can increase the development of our mind. Ancient Indian sages would practise the physical exercise to keep their body and mind capable for their religious practice. This is how yoga was introduced.
Yoga is not unscientific. Yoga is the science of health. Doctors recommend yoga for the uncurable diseseases. And the result is obviously promising. Recently many researchers are studying the effect of yoga. Yoga strengthens the immunity system. Just a little bit of practices regularly can give you the benefits. Practise just once or twice a day in the morning and the evening.

Getting Up Early In The Morning
Tech Guide
Early to bed and early to rise makes us healthy- is a saying everyone knows. But who does?
We know many such a thing good for us. But who cares to follow? Actually we know it but we do not know and try to find the scientific reason behind this saying as it is conventional concept.
Morning is the best time as well as the most beautiful moment. Getting up early in the morning makes our mind fresh. The atmosphere in the early morning remains calm and refreshing. This helps our mind to be calm and receptive.
It is scientifically proved that light effects on our body. Night is the time for rest. Any light in the bedroom disturbs our sleeping. The darkness helps sound sleep. The light effect disturbs melanin hormone secretion which helps us for complete rest. The mild light which is produced in the morning before sunrise soothes our mind and body. This mild light is produced only at that moment of the day.
Even when we rise on a single day before sunrise with uncomfortableness we feel the easeness during the rest of the day. Walking at that time makes our body free of diseases.
We can walk in the morning and do some yoga exercises. Then do deep breathe exercise and meditation. Morning starts our day.
Getting up early in the morning is hard for those who gets up late. Late rising is associated with the habit of going to sleep late. If you want to get up early you have to make a habit of sleeping early. A man needs 6-8hours to sleep. The duration of sleeping varies from person to person. Some people needs 8 hours. Some sleeps 7hours and some others take 6 hours. You certainly know how much time you sleep. Just keep up the duration and go to sleep before 20- 30minutes as you do every day. Set your alarm 20-30minutes before the time of your getting up. Follow this schedule 3-5days. Then change your time of sleeping and 20- 30 minutes earlier again. Follow the schedule 3-5days to be accustomed with the time. Just maintain the time span. You can reduce or increase your time span if you think it necessary. But sleeping too much or less is harmful for health. The side effect cannot be seen immediately but you will suffer after the age of 45-50 years. So I will say that you should never lead an irregular life with the vigour of youth.
Taking bath in the morning is good. After sleeping the whole night our skin needs to be refreshed by bathing. Morning bath keeps us away from skin diseases. It also makes our day fresh.
In the morning have your breakfast with a light food. Breakfast is very necessary after a long night's fasting.
In the early morning the atmosphere remains calm and our mind also remains receptive after sleeping. It is the best time to study. We can easily memorise our lesson. Reading self-help and self-development book can make a postive attitude.
Getting up early in the morning changes the life of singers, sportsmen and many others. Singers practise singing everyday in the morning. They never miss a single day. Sportsmen exercises in the morning. And some business also gets up early for selling goods. We can get the best value of a performance if we practise it in the early morning. A man who does not get up before sunrise his fortune never shines in life.
Moring shows the day. So start your day with a consciousness to keep your mind and body active. Certainly you will have a good day.

Spend Your Day in a Meaningful and Useful Way
Tech Guide
A man's life becomes happy and peaceful when his life has an order and meaningful way of living. Disorder and chaos is the root of unhappiness.
Some persons has no really any concept of meaningful way of living. We generally have a concept that a cosy and comfortable lifestyle with luxury is the way of meaningful living. I think a comfortable lifestyle never gives one happy life. Eating with heart's content without control, living in comfortable room with air conditioner and avoiding physical work i.e. hard work are the way of high lifestyle according to general concept of people. Does that really results in good?
What do you expect from your life? I think you hope to be free of disease. You would like to be strong, energetic and spiritful. You want your mind to be stress free, tension free, positive mentality. You expect to have a powerful insight and high intelligence. You want to behave well with all and make a joyful surrounding making a good relation with others. I hope you agree with me.
Is it really possible to be what one dreams to be? Of course you can. All the possibilities lie within us. We have to tap that potentiality.
Everything can be changed with conscious effort. The outward expressions come from our thought pattern. Our personal development lies within our way of living. Now you will certainly ask me what is ideal for progress.
The creation of the whole universe is not the consequence of chaos and disorder. There lies an absolute order and discipline that runs the universe. A man's life improves when his life has an order and discipline. Regularity should be maintained to shine in your life.
From getting up to going to sleep you sould maintain an order and discipline. Always get up early in the morning before sunrise. This will reduce your physical laziness. Also the atmosphere of the morning will make your mind fresh. Either walk or do some yoga exercises in the morning. Yoga will make your mind and body fit and healthy. Then practise the deep breathing exercise or pranayam. Then meditatate for 20- 30 minutes. Meditation can change your thought pattern. We do things how we think. To change our performance and behaviour we need to change our thinking habit first. Regular meditation makes us so conscious that we can easily spot out any wave of thought appearing slowly in mind and control that thought. We can form positive thinking habit this way.
Next eat your breakfast. You must eat some light food that mainly has carbohydrate. Breakfast is very necessary because it supplies the required enegy during rest of the day. After fasting the whole night we need some food that provides the energy.
Then read books on self-help, personal developnent for 1-2 hours. Self-help books reinforces our plan and shows the way how to solve problems and work on opportunity. Then read the daily newspaper.
The office-goers will then be ready for their offices. If you stay at home do some home work. At noon study or gossip with your family members. Actually we want to live happily with our family. That's why we labour hard with a smiling face.
In the afternoon go out for walking or meet your friends to gossip. Talking with friends will give you delight. In the evening do some exercises, the deep breathing pratice and meditation. This is a constructive pratice that can really make your life peaceful. Then study for a long time. Study can change your mentality and judgement. Study greatly improves our personality. You can deliver a charming speech if you acquire a good command over a subject.
At night eat light food for digesting easily. If you cannot meditate in the evening you can practise before sleep. That helps a profound sound sleep. After all, sound sleep is important factor for our physical and mental condition.
You can make a flower garden to engage yourself in a creative work. You can write articles for magazine or blog. Being creative and spending your time creatively makes a valuable life. You should communicate your relatives through phone regularly to keep in touch with them. This can make a great value of you to them.
I will certainly share with you many such thoughts to change your life if you prefer my articles and give response through comments.

Meditation
Tech Guide
Meditation itself can change your life. Meditation makes a higher mentality. This is most helpful to remain calm and stress free. As a result of regular practice of meditation you will acquire a deep concentration. Your personality will grow automatically unknowingly with the development of analytical power, prudence, judgement, self-dignity and self-confidence. Meditation is the best way for easy self-development and self-improvement. Researchers have proved that meditation can strengthen immunity and can even slow down the bad effect of incurable diseases.
Meditation is one type of mental exercises which controls the mind and focuses on a particular subject. Meditation can be practised twice a day. The best time for practising meditation is early morning and early evening. These are the transcendental state of the day when the environment becomes calm and also the human body and mind tends to become calm at these moments.
Steps
First sit in a posture that keeps your backbone steady and you feel easy. Sit in a cross-legged posture and keep your hands either on the knees or in the lap.
Then close your eyes and pray for the well being of the universe.
"Let all beings be happy; let all beings be peaceful; let all beings be blissful." The more you repeat this prayer mentally the better you will feel yourself.
Now follow your breath. The regular breathing harmonises the system. When you practise the regular breathing for some time, your mind will become calm.
Then focus on your mind and just see what is happening there. Do not try to obstruct them. Just let them flow. After a while concentrate on the forehead and try to see the light. You can imagine that the light is filling your complete body and your feeling easy and peaceful.
During meditation imagine that you are sitting on a lotus and its radition is filling your heart and body and purifying you. This will make a compassionate heart and great personality in you.
During meditation you can focus on external and internal part. But focusing on internal part is easy as it is physical. Imagination is done according to purpose. Actually you will gain the nature of what you meditate. There are so many types of meditation. For example stress free, relaxation, creative meditation etc.
When you will be accustomed to meditation you will feel so comfortable, relaxing and useful that you will be addicted to it. If you miss it one day you will remain unsatisfied. After meditating several days you may think that meditation is not so useful and then if you stop the practice you will realise the difference during the days of the practice of the meditation. During the days of practice you could easily concentrate on a work; you could feel spiritful; your mind would be light, your mind would not scatter. I think meditation is so beneficial that you will realise if you practise. Then you will recommend it to everyone.
Sri Ramkrishna on Meditation
"If you meditate on an ideal you will acquire it's nature. If you think of God day and night, you will acquire the nature of God."

The constructive Habit Formation
Tech Guide
Man is the servant of habit. A person is guided by the habit he is accustommed to. Even man cannot change his strong habit. That's why men cannot get rid of bad habit easily.
A bad habit destroys us and a good habit construct our life. As a man is controlled by his habit he can also form a good habit.
A sportsman who wins the gold medal in a race exercises everyday. As a consequent of his daily practice of habit for a long time he wins the fame. This example shows us that sportsman continues his regular practice. He never breaks this habit. He practises for a long time.
To form a habit you have to practise regulary for a long period. A river lays in the silt beside it day to day and oneday we see a huge islands in its breast. Isaland is very useful for cultivation and there grows many plants because of its yielding soil. Human nature construct a habit day to day and gets its benefits.
According to psychology practising something for at least 21 days makes a permanent habit. So you need not worry about how many days conscious effort forms a peramanent habit. You even need not worry that only after 21 days conscious effort makes you continue to work something with the impact of your habit formation. Human nature does not like change. It resists to change. So with the inflience of your habit you will be automatically guided. Even a single day you do not follow your habit your mind miss the work.
Human nature is also like nature that create the outside environment. In nature nothing hurries to form. Nature forms something slowly and it becomes the most beautiful and permanent. Human nature similarly follows the same rules.
Habits that we can usualy make for our improvement are getting up early in the morning, exercise, meditation, thinking, attitude, study etc. Just do something regularly with conscious effort. Forming a good habit is a postive approach in life. This helps self-development.
When a man's mind is very calm his mind remains recptive. Then if a man practise something he easily forms the habit. In the morning when a man get up his mind remains fresh and calm. And at night before sleep doing something easily makes a habit because sleep stores the pratice well in memory.
Time is an important factor to form a habit. If we do something regulary at a certain time we easily make a habit. Actuall we make habit to acquire a skill. We know that our perfomarnce becomes perfect depending on our skill. And regular practice that is a form of habit increases our skill level.
Time is an important factor because it applies conditioning to our mind. Our mind becomes ready to perform a work as a result of conditioning. The conditioning theory was invented by Pavlov. He researched upon a dog. The dog was given meal to a particular time. After several days the sound of bell was added with the system. After that if the dog heard the sound of the bell its saliva would drop from its mouth. Because his food was condituoned with the sound of the bell.
A habit at a particular time is also a conditioning process for our mind. Automatically without conscious effort we can perfom the work easily. We need not apply extra conscious effort.
Human beings are guided with bilogical clock. We can observe the effect of biological clock at various work habit. You can notuce that your getting up in the morning happens at a particular time. If you do not set the alarm your sleep will be over at that particular moment you used to get up. We feel hungry at the particular moment because of the bilogical clock. Biological clock is the result of time factor.

Mind, Body and Food
Tech Guide
The title has a similarity with a familiar and popular phrase 'mind, body and soul'. This concept refers to a higher mentality. The title of this article has also a implication and foundation of the phrase 'mind, body and soul'.
Health is wealth. We cannot live happily without healthy body. Our health should be free of disease. Any pain and suffering makes our life miserable. Therefore fit body makes us happy.
But how do a person gain healthy body? To gain a good health we need to have nutritious food with appropriate quantity and to exerxise regularly. You have to be conscious to have a good physical condition.
Healthy body makes healthy mind. Weak and unfit body is incapable of spirit and vigour. Our mental health is responsible for our attitide towards the enjoyment of life. Tension-free cheerful mind vigorates our spirit to enjoy and to be smiling and light minded. Positive thinking and postive attitude can sublimate the condition of our mind in this regard. Mental health is therefore important for all of us.
Our body is formed with the element that comes from food. Nutritious food is good for health. Foods are divided into three types according to science. These are carbohydrate, protein and fat. Carbohydrate provides energy. Protein makes up the decay of our body. And fat gives more energy than carbohydrate. Nutrious food having vitamins and minerals not only makes us fit and strong but also improves immunity, brain fuctions- remembering, memorising, analysing and insightful prudence; strength and vigour.
Indian sages believe that various types of food truct the characteristic nature of mind. Actually this principle is based upon nowadays psycho-somatic relation. According to Indian saints foods are of three type - sattas, rajas and tamas. The food which has the value and functuonality of constructing true and honest nature of mind is called sattas type. The food which has the value and fuctionality of constructing spiritful and energetic nature of mind is called rajas type. And the food which makes the nature of laziness and dishonesty is called tamas type.
Fresh fruits , food and easily digestive nutritious food etc belong to sattas category. Fish, meat and protien food belong to rajas category. And extra salty, acidic, chilly and spicy food etc belong to tamas category.
These types make the human personality accoring to thei types. Human being with Tamas type are prone to laziness, negativity and destructive attitude. They cannot improve their lives. Human being with Rajas are active, spiritful and energetic. They work hard and improve in life. Human being with Sattas type are calm, honest, devoted and prudent. They shine in life and gain fame.
Your practical observation will prove this at a moment. Just observe a drunkard fellow, an established man and an ideal or famous man. Just try to know their food habbit and attitude. Their preferrences of food and attitude and conversation will prove this.
Now a question arises. Why don't we get the result instantly after having fresh fruit and nutritious food? Creativity is subtle and destructuvity is crude. That's why after having much alocohol we see the effect instantly and nutritious food eaters gain their physical and mental development after a comparatively long time.
Food habit is an important factor of Sadahana i.e. religious practice of Indian saints. Now don't you ask me why the Indian sages are vegetarian?
