How to root your device depends on the android handset model you use. Here I will discuss about what changes you can make after you root your android device.

Game

Now there are many applications in Play Store and other market places to modify the system UI. I think the best apps to modify System UI are Xposed Installer apk and its modules (Unicon, Wanam, Ximui etc.) For example, you can change the icon of default/ stock launcher with the Unicon and Ximui can change the animation styles of your android smartphone.

Generally the processor, Ram and internal memory enhances the performance of a phone. Display, Operating sytem, camera, Sensors, Gps are the speciality of android smartphones. Samsung Galaxy has been sold widely over the whole world. Samsung is giving the best looking and attractive smartphones.

Network Support:
Try to know whether the phone supports only 2G or 3G network. Unless it supports 3G you cannot use 3G network when you will buy a 3G internet topup.
SIM:
Now many phones are giving dual sim facility. Try to know whether it provides mini sim size or normal size.
Display:
Of course the display size is one of the most attractive features. Try to know the pixel rate. More than 140ppi is fine. Display quality becomes finer according ppi. Capacity touchscreen and multi touch capability give the smoothe touch advantage.
Memory:
Internal Memory size gives the advantage of using more applications. The more the internal memory is the more applications you can install. RAM enhances the performance. Ram size increases the speed.
Data
Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi network helps users to browse internet. It is the fastest network which generally is provided by many organisations and institutions.
Bluetooth and USB: Try to know the versions of bluetooth and USB. Current versions are faster than earlier.
Camera:
See the megapixel og camera and whether there is a secondary camera. Some phones take HD quality image.
Video: Try to know whether it takes vga or HD shot. More fps rates gives fine quality.

compass enhances the quality of your phone that makes it different from other phones.

You may see whether GPS or A-GPS is there. Global positioning system gives the facility to know your exact position in google map through satelite.

You can see the capacity of the battery that is mentioned with  mAh. You can see talktime, standby, internet browsing time.
Just compare the features with others and decide which you want to buy. You will not get all the features in a set.
